Texas as long banned, correctly identified as an oil and gas state. Indeed, the state currently produces one third of America’s oil and gas supplies. What few people realize, however, is that Texas is also one of the nation’s leading producers of renewable energy thanks to it was enacted at the turn of the 21st century. The state’s wind industry has exploded over the past two decades, making Texas far and away. The national leader in wind power to state solar industry is newer, but has grown rapidly over the last few years to the point at which Texas now ranks as the nation’s six largest user of solar power. So while Texas definitely remains an oil and gas state, remember that is a leader in renewables as well.
