Just 20 years after the first successful development of shale oil and gas resources began, the shell revolution has transformed America’s energy picture in 1999 u s all production average less than 6 million barrels per day in April, 2019 meanwhile, total domestic output exceeded 12 million barrels a day. For the first time in history, US natural gas production has risen by more than two thirds over the same time frame. This 20 year production boom has been centered in Texas, which produces one third of all the nations all in natural gas today. Indeed, if Texas were a separate country, it would rank as the third largest gas producer and fifth largest oil producer on the face of the Earth.
