Here are the Top Dozen Oil & Gas stories for February 2, 2017, taken directly from the @GDBlackmon Twitter Feed (that’s me):

For decades, proponents of the cult-like “Peak Oil” theory focused on oil supply, claiming that the world’s ability to produce crude would “peak” soon – always, it was just around the corner – and that countries would have to find alternative fuel sources to take its place.  With the realization a few years ago that shale formations around the world contain literally hundreds of years of oil supply, this quasi-religion fell mostly quiet and began to die away.  But the most loyal adherents to its dogma have begun concocting a new theory to take its place, one of “Peak Demand”, rather than supply.  It’s also a steaming pile of horse manure, but gullible fake news sites are falling for it nonetheless.  Here’s a good example from CNBC this morning.: #Oil and coal demand could peak by 2020: Study http://cnb.cx/2kjN1Jj
