The Port of Corpus Christi hosted a kick-off event marking the start of its long-awaited Channel Improvement Project on May 29 at Solomon P. Ortiz Center. The kickoff included an ahead-of-schedule estimate of completion of the project. The gathering included speakers representing pivotal participants in the procurement of funding and permits in the process to get the project started. By throwing a ceremonial switch, the $347 million channel improvement project commenced.
