We welcome submissions from energy experts and leaders who educate our readers and provide meaningful analysis of important topics across the energy sector. Below are some guidelines for article submissions.

Editorial submission

1. Focus on the Energy Sector

The historical focus of this magazine has been on shale and relevant sectors. Relevant topics may include exploration, production, technology advancements, market trends, environmental considerations, and more.

However, guest articles may cover a wide range of topics within the energy sector, including conventional and renewable energy sources, energy policy, technology advancements, environmental impacts, and economic implications.

2. Data-driven Content

Submissions must be grounded in sound and reliable data. Authors should utilize and reference credible sources, ensuring accuracy and reliability in the information presented. Statistical data, case studies, and industry reports are encouraged.

3. Non-Politicized Content

Shale Magazine aims to provide objective insights into the energy sector. We cover all aspects of traditional and renewable energy, including policy developments. However, submissions should avoid undue politicization and maintain a neutral tone. Opinions and analyses should be based on facts rather than promoting a specific political agenda or ideology. Our goal is quality information.

4. Clarity and Readability

Articles should be written in a clear, concise, and easily understandable manner. Avoid unnecessary jargon or technical language that may alienate readers. Use a writing style that appeals to a broad audience, including industry professionals and general readers.

5. Originality

Submissions should be original works not published elsewhere. Authors should disclose if similar content has been submitted or published elsewhere. Plagiarism will not be tolerated.

6. Length and Formatting

Articles should typically range between 500 to 1,200 words, allowing for in-depth exploration of topics without becoming overly verbose. Include subheadings, bullet points, and visuals where applicable to enhance readability.

7. Author Bios and Disclosures

Include a brief author bio (maximum 100 words) at the end of the article. Authors should disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to the topic discussed in their submission.

8. Submission Process

Submissions should be sent in a Word document format to [email protected].  Include a summary or abstract outlining the key points of the article. The editorial team will review submissions for relevance and adherence to guidelines.

9. Review and Approval Process

Submitted articles will undergo an editorial review process to ensure alignment with Shale Magazine’s standards. All articles are subject to fact-checking. Authors may be asked for revisions before final approval for publication.

10. Publication Rights

Shale Magazine retains the right to publish, edit, or decline any submissions. Authors should confirm their understanding and agreement to these terms upon submission.
