Jungle Island, South Florida’s popular landmark attraction, invites guests to embark on Miami’s greatest hands-on wildlife adventure. Combining the beauty of a tropical landscape with a jungle full of 450 extraordinary animals from around the globe, Jungle Island is South Florida’s botanic and wildlife park, with attractions and exhibits for the entire family.

Some of Jungle Island’s most famous animal residents include J.J., the highly intelligent Spanish-speaking cockatoo; Mama Cass, the only tame cassowary on the planet; and Vulcan, the brother of Hercules, a liger who holds the Guinness World Record for World’s Largest Living Cat. Two of the park’s most popular residents are Pumpkin and Peanut, one of the only sets of orangutan twins in the world. In July 2012, Peanut was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and became the first orangutan in the world to be treated with aggressive chemotherapy just like a human.

With so much to do, guests can enjoy any of the shows and presentations such as the world-renowned Winged Wonders, with its dynamic performing birds including a free-flying Andean condor; the Wild Encounter show, which features a wide array of tigers, capuchin monkeys and gibbons; and Wild Adventures, a presentation that takes an audience full of research assistants on a wild safari adventure through the animal kingdom to meet animals from around the globe — from a lemur to a kinkajou and even African penguins.
